Super comfortable and beautiful subtle colors

This shoe was as comfortable as all of the other Allen Edmonds I own. Having worn them (AE)for the past thirty years I can say I've never been disappointed in the fit or comfort. The only thing about the Desoto I didn't like is the fact they can't be recrafted. Hope they still make them when these wear out.

This shoe is not as advertised. It says 'black' when in reality it is charcoal and has an unpolished look. Even the picture does not indicate the charcoal look. Had I saw these in the store I would have easily recognized it is not what I was looking for. The online description was inaccurate and wasted a bit of my time buying and returning.

You should have at lease 10 pairs of Quality shoes and wear them one a month they well last years keep in shoe tree and polish and oil the leather like a fine leather couch .my just take care of them they will last years that's why you were AE

They are extremely comfortable and I bought 2 pair to wear in Madrid and Barcelona. The only problem is they don't wear well. The leather finish wore off the toes very quickly and they soon looked old.

The shoe was just as it appeared on line. It is a classy casual shoe and goes well with a pair of linen slacks or shorts or a business suit. I have many Allen Edmond footwear and this is one of the top. Thanks Allen Edmond

Unusually comfortable shoe to wear without socks. I have very narrow feet and no other shoe brand comes close to fitting my feet. I literally walk out of shoes made by sperry, Cole Hahn, etc.

A good summer shoe

I ordered a tan pair last August'14, they were as stated made to order and a limited edition. I only wore them into late summer and early fall. I was and am pleased with the shoes.
I ordered a brown pair in March'15. I was surprised that they were offered again. The brown pair is not as well constructed as the original tan pair.
bottom line is, I like both pairs, knowing that they are not going to last more than two or three seasons.

Don't Drag Your Feet

Ever since I was a kid I have had a tendency to drag my feet.
Well, after a walk of less than a mile I had almost warn through the toes on this very comfortable shoe.
The shoe leather at the toe protrudes a bit beyond the sole and in my case this was deadly.
I have been looking for a soft leather shoe to wear without socks and, if it weren't for the combination of my stride and the design, this would have been it.

Go to good shoe repair craftsman have tow and heal (taps) put on. And keep shoes in shoe trees(must) and Polish play with horse hair brush and horsehair polish brush keep them looking good for years and don't wear them every day

These shoes were terrible all around.

I ordered the same size shoe i buy from you normally, 10.5 eee. these came in the mail and i just wore them to work. they were so sloppy and big i got blistered. I then went to return them to the store on Madison and was not given a full credit because they were obviosly worn. I will say, the sales people at the madison store were more than helpful and i ended up buying 3 more pairs of shoes before i left. Just shocked at how bad these shoes were.

I ordered these last year as a Web Gem. They are great shoes and can wear them out of the box for hours. However they do run small. Go up .5 size to get the right fit. Sole is thin but that is not a bad thing. I will order another color.

It breaks my heart to give this shoe one star! It is a very versatile and great looking shoe that was comfortable out of the box. After about three months, the sole started to separate from the rest of the shoe. The stitching that connects the shoe to the sole is not in a deep enough groove that would protect it from excess friction. As a result, it wears down prematurely and breaks causing the sole to come off. I assumed I had a defective shoe, but when AE sent me a replacement, the same exact thing happened a few months later. I only wore these shoes about 2-3 times per week. I loved the desotos while they lasted and would buy them again if they were made better. I own about a dozen pairs of AE shoes and this is the only style that has given me problems. Please fix!

It does not sound like customer service has resolve what seems to be a design issue or manufacturing issue. I would like to order this shoe, but not until you tell me that you have fixed the stitching issue to the sole. Since his 2nd pair of shoes failed the same way as the first, the problem still has not been addresses. Please let me now when the issue has been solved so that I can order a couple of pairs of these shoes.
