Great over-the-phone experience

Aaron was extremely helpful and made sure I purchased everything I needed. I was able to quickly purchase a pair of Lexingtons in Chili with a matching belt in no time. Aaron also made sure to point out that American Express was running a statement credit deal when purchasing from Allen Edmonds. Great experience overall. Thank you!

I called and spoke with Jean from the outlet in Port Washington, WI who was extremely helpful with the whole ordering process. I called back when I had a sizing issue (my fault) and she helped me get my order returned and the correct size to me in a very timely manor. Seriously so happy with my purchase and the experience all around!

I called your Port Washington store this morning
Shirley assisted me and was fantastic. I was looking for 3 specific pairs of shoes. She was able to find all 3 and even shared with me a special order in my odd size (14 2a) that I could purchase. Ended up purchasing 4 pairs of shoes and some polish. Your brand is the only show I have been able to find that fits my foot and is comfortable. They are the only dress/casual shoes I have purchased over the last 30 plus years.

I bought two pairs of shoes today at the Port Washington WI Factory Shoe Bank due in large part to the time that Greg Ross spent ensuring that I had the proper fit for both pair. It was an "old-time" shoe buying experience that is almost impossible to find in most stores these days.

Chris, Greg, and Great Customer Service

Within the past month, I've dealt with both Chris and Greg at the Shoe Bank. I received exemplary service from both. First, from Chris, I ordered a closeout style that, upon receipt, I didn't care for. Nothing wrong with the shoe (see prior reviews re: inability to find out just what makes an AE a "second"# - just didn't care for the style when I tried it on. After talking with Chris, he found another style I wanted and sent it to me without waiting for me to return the first pair - all at no cost. I am very happy with the new pair #Bradley in black#. Many thanks!
Next, I worked with Greg on a pair of Randolphs. The first pair #which I received in Atlanta, from Port Washington, the next day# was too tight; sent them back and got the next size up; still too tight. I found three additional styles I liked, but rather than buy them and wait for the return, I asked if these three could be held so we could do everything at once. Greg held each of the three shoes for me - during a great sale, mind you - and then patiently assisted me with taking three forms of payment #a couple of gift cards and a credit card# to cover the difference between the Randolphs and the new shoes. Two days later, I had three new pair of AE's, and they are wonderful #Wilbert in brown, Strandmok in brown, and Voyager in blue#. All are seconds, yet I am at a loss to understand why.
These four new pair bring my AE total to 20. Great shoes? Absolutely - the best. But it is the now-uncommon attention to the customer - and folks like Chris and Greg - that will keep me buying more. Many thanks to Chris, Greg, and all the fine folks at AE for a job well done.

Greg Ross at Port Washington, WI is great!

I only order my Allen Edmonds shoes online, but today was the first time I've dealt with the location in Port Washington, WI. From the time Greg answered the phone after 2 rings until the time my order was processed: 7 minutes. How awesome is that? Greg was quite congenial on the phone and very helpful, which is what I've always experienced with other AE personnel. Quality products result in repeat customers, but bad customer service can push people away. Greg has only reconfirmed my *happiness* as a repeat AE customer.

Spotted a pair of black Monticito loafers on the Shoe Bank web site last Friday evening and fired off a quick email inquiry to confirm availability. Your sales associate Elena called me the next morning to confirm that the shoes were in stock. I asked about other colors and she was more than happy to follow up and see if she could locate a pair of tan ones as well which unfortunately, were not available.
My order was handled and shipped very quickly and I am impressed because your sales associate provided me the same Allen Edmonds professional treatment for a $99.00 pair of clearance shoes that I would receive if purchasing a $399.00 pair of shell cordovan oxfords.

Phil Rosen at the Shoe Bank in Port Washington received my call.
I wanted a 9.5B in a brown Randolph..he immediately found it in a first quality. Then I asked if he could find a 2nd. He spent a good deal of time and found it in Ohio and I ordered it. The reason I'm writing this is because this call was early in your Anniversary Sale when he had many calls and many in person customers...and when he first called the Ohio store, he received no answer and had to email them. But he finally got in touch with them and locked in the order. I've been buying Allen Edmonds for years (narrow foot) and at the time I'm writing this, I haven't received the shoes yet and don't know whether I'll like them or whether they'll fit. That's not the point. I've never had better service...ever...That's one of the main reasons I keep ordering from AE.

On a tip from a friend, I contacted the AE Shoebank with my show size asking about shoe availability for their 2 for $250 event on factory seconds. I received the list of available products and called the shoe bank. I was assisted by Shirley P - who took the time to describe the shoes that were available nationwide (even during a very busy sale). She took my order and advised me that she would order the noted shoes if they were available and then charge my card. I called back later in the weekend to check on the status of the order. Shirley returned my call within minutes and confirmed the order for me - making sure that the shoes would be shipped directly to me from 2 different stores. Excellent customer service! The shoes arrived yesterday and I'm very pleased with them. As factory seconds - they have very minor blemishes - but overall an excellent value on great shoes. I'll be shopping the shoe bank again. Best regards - keep up the good work.

Great service compromised by communication issue

Dealt with Susan, who despite dealing with the high volume due to the sale took the time to discuss my prior experience with the model I ordered, made suggestions to find a better fit, locate the last pair and check their condition. In short, fantastic service.
Unfortunately, during the second phone call to place the order we missed a couple of shoe care items (the warehouse was loud, so no blame to Susan). I didn't discover this until I received my electronic receipt. I called the next morning, but the call was never picked up, and my message was not returned.
I should note my shipment was not picked up by FedEx until several hours after I tried reaching the Shoebank.

Everyone at AE is always very helpful. This time around, Shirley at the Shoe Bank helped me over the phone. She was so patient and helpful, checking with other stores to see if they had the shoes I wanted and getting back to me every time she said she would. I don't write reviews often but I thought it was important that someone at AE know that their employees really go the extra mile.

The definition of customer service

I recently ordered a pair of Park Avenue. This is my second pair of Park Avenues as the first pair has been worn for over 13 years. I had the pleasure of dealing with Chris Van Linda, who was not only knowledgable and helpful with the order, but was able to fix an order issue almost immediately.
Finally, I need to mention that he was able to find these shoes from out of state and have them shipped directly to me in Texas. Just an example of outstanding service from Allen Edmonds and one of the reasons I remain a loyal customer.

I bought factory seconds on sale-exceptional value for a very well made shoe.

I bought 4 pairs of 1 style in 2 colors in 2 widths. I returned the width that didn't fit me as well. I saved about half off the retail full price for a factory second on sale[too.]. Bought a belt too. I have made both new and seconds' purchases over many years. I find great quality, great durability. I can't ever find what makes the shoes a second. Must be tiny flaws. Buying "Made in the USA" is also an important part of my decision to buy Allen Edmonds.
A technical problem-printing email receipts:
I wasn't able to reprint my email receipt from the factory store when I tried about 10 days after the sale. It printed OK the day I received the email receipt. When I tried to reprint my receipt 10 days after receiving it, I only saw a graphic saying it was a receipt. It had 2 places to click if I couldn't see the actual receipt. Tried both. One said java error, one said error on blank page. I was using the web interface for my email service[Go Daddy's Service]. I tried on both my Mac and on my Windows 7 PC using Firefox. I photocopied my receipt from before and gave up using the computer to print another copy. I don't blame Allen Edmonds. This could be a problem with Firefox, with GO Daddy's email web inteface or something else. It won't keep me from additional purchases from Allen Edmonds going forward. Value is Value.

After I paid for shipping by USPS I saw that Allen Edmonds would pay for shipping returns using their UPS account or such. I didn't bother trying to cancel the USPS charge. I didn't mind the extra $21 cost of return shipping because the shoes were so great a buy.
Whew, I can't believe I wrote this whole thing/. I can't believe anyone will read it all.
